Cookie Policy

This page is provided for general information and is not legal advice.

This Cookie & Analytics Policy explains how We Find Your Insurance (“We Find Your Insurance,” “WFYI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies, pixels, software development kits (SDKs), local storage, and similar tracking technologies on our website, https://wefindyourinsurance.com (the “Site”). The Site is operated by We Find Your Insurance LLC. We are an independent insurance producer (National Producer Number 21658409), and we are not an insurer or carrier.

This Cookie Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy describes in fuller detail what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the privacy rights you may have. Where this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy overlap, the two are intended to work together. If there is a direct conflict on a privacy matter, the Privacy Policy controls.

What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

“Cookies” and related technologies are small files or pieces of data that a website, or a third party working with a website, stores on or reads from your browser or device. They help a site function, remember your choices, understand how the Site is used, and (where enabled) support advertising. On our Site, “cookies” is used as an umbrella term that includes the following:

  • Cookies: small text files placed in your browser by the Site (first party) or by a third party whose content is embedded on a page (third party).
  • Pixels (also called web beacons, tags, or clear GIFs): tiny, often invisible images or snippets of code that load from a server. They can record that a page or email was opened and can read or set cookies. Where our analytics tool Jetpack Stats is enabled, it operates as a pixel served from stats.wp.com and pixel.wp.com.
  • SDKs (software development kits): code libraries that vendors provide so their features (for example, analytics, scheduling, or advertising measurement) can run within a website or app.
  • Local storage and similar device storage: browser features (such as HTML5 local storage and session storage) that let a site save data on your device in a way similar to cookies, often to remember settings or improve performance.

First-Party vs. Third-Party

First-party technologies are set by our Site directly (for example, the domain wefindyourinsurance.com). Third-party technologies are set by other companies whose services we embed or use, such as our analytics, scheduling, forms, or advertising providers. Third parties set and read their own cookies under their own policies, which we link to below. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their privacy or data practices; their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies.

Session vs. Persistent

Session cookies exist only while your browser session is open and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (from minutes to months or longer, depending on the cookie) or until you delete them, so the Site can recognize your browser on a later visit.

Categories of Cookies and Technologies We Use

The table below describes the categories of cookies and similar technologies used on the Site, with examples of the providers involved, their general purpose, an approximate duration, and a link to each provider’s policy or opt-out. Exact cookie names and lifespans are set by the providers and can change without notice; treat the durations below as general guidance only. We manage the tags below primarily through Google Tag Manager (Google’s tag-deployment system), which loads Google Analytics (GA4) and, where enabled, Google Ads/remarketing tags; some tools may also be deployed directly or through the MonsterInsights plugin. Our Site is built on WordPress and hosted on Bluehost, and connections to the Site are encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS.

Category Purpose Example Providers / Technologies Approx. Duration Provider Policy / Opt-Out
Strictly Necessary (cannot be disabled) Enable core Site functions: maintaining a WordPress session, security, protecting against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), fraud prevention, and load balancing. Without these the Site cannot work properly. WordPress session and security cookies (first party); hosting/load-balancing cookies (Bluehost, first party); CSRF and form-security tokens. Mostly session cookies; some persist up to about 1 year for security or preference purposes. Always active. These are required for the Site to operate and are not used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy.
Analytics / Performance Help us understand how visitors find and use the Site — which pages are viewed, how long visits last, general location and device type, and how people arrive — so we can measure performance and improve content. See “How We Use Analytics Data” below. Where enabled: Google Analytics (GA4), deployed via Google Tag Manager and/or the MonsterInsights plugin (activates once configured); Jetpack Stats by Automattic, served as a pixel from stats.wp.com / pixel.wp.com. Up to approximately 2 years, depending on the specific analytics identifier. Google Analytics opt-out add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout; Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Automattic/Jetpack Privacy: automattic.com/privacy.
Functional Support optional features and remember choices — for example, embedding our scheduling tool, controlling how often a promotional message appears, and helping our web forms and on-site chat work smoothly. Calendly (scheduling embed; sets its own cookies); OptinMonster (campaign display and frequency-capping cookies); WPForms and on-site AI chat assistant helpers. Session to approximately 1 year, depending on the feature. Calendly Privacy: calendly.com/privacy; OptinMonster Privacy: optinmonster.com/privacy. General controls in the “How to Manage” section below.
Advertising / Targeting Measure the performance of advertising campaigns, attribute conversions such as form submissions, and support tailored advertising on other platforms. The Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) is active on every page and is installed directly on the Site rather than through a tag manager. We also use or may use Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags, deployed via Google Tag Manager. Server-side conversion APIs — Google Enhanced Conversions and the Meta Conversions API, which transmit a hashed email address or phone number when you submit a form — are not currently enabled. Typically persistent, ranging from days up to approximately 1–2 years, depending on the provider. Digital advertising opt-outs: NAI optout.networkadvertising.org and DAA optout.aboutads.info; Google Ads Settings: adssettings.google.com; Meta ad settings: facebook.com/adpreferences/ad_settings.

Provider names, cookie names, and durations are illustrative and are set by the third parties; they may change at any time. Advertising/targeting technologies are described as “where enabled” and are not necessarily active on the Site at any given time.

How We Use Analytics Data

Where enabled, our analytics tools — Google Analytics (GA4), delivered through Google Tag Manager and/or the MonsterInsights plugin, and Jetpack Stats by Automattic — help us understand how the Site is performing so we can make it more useful. In plain terms, analytics data tells us what content people find, read, and act on, and where it can be improved.

The categories of information collected for analytics generally include:

  • Pages and articles viewed, and the order in which they are viewed;
  • Approximate, general location derived from IP address (for example, region or city), and whether you are a new or returning visitor;
  • Device and browser type, screen size, and operating system (user-agent information);
  • The website, search, or link that referred you to the Site;
  • Time spent on pages and general interactions, such as clicks and scrolling;
  • Cookie or analytics identifiers used to distinguish one browser from another.

We use this information to measure traffic and engagement, understand which insurance topics are most helpful, diagnose technical problems, improve page speed and navigation, and plan future content. We do not use analytics data to make eligibility, underwriting, or pricing decisions about you — those decisions are made by insurance carriers, not by WFYI. For more on how personal information is handled overall, see our Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Conversion Measurement (Where Enabled)

We use or may use, where enabled, advertising and conversion-measurement technologies from Google Ads and/or Meta (Facebook and Instagram), deployed on the Site through Google Tag Manager, to understand whether our advertising works and to reach people who may benefit from our services. This may include Google Enhanced Conversions and the Meta Conversions API. When these tools are active, they may transmit a hashed (cryptographically scrambled) version of information you provide — such as your email address or phone number — when you submit a form, so the advertising platform can match a conversion without receiving that information in plain, readable form.

The Meta Pixel is live on the Site as of the date above. It loads on every page and records a page view. On our advertising landing pages it also records when the page is viewed, when the enquiry form is started and submitted, when an appointment is booked, and when the phone number is tapped, so that we can tell which advertisements produce genuine enquiries. The Meta Conversions API, which would send those same events from our server, is not currently enabled. You can switch advertising and analytics technologies off at any time by choosing “Only necessary” in our cookie banner or through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer, and you can also limit tailored advertising using the browser controls and industry opt-out tools listed below and in the table.

How to Manage Cookies and Your Choices

You have several ways to control cookies and similar technologies. Please note that strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off, because the Site cannot function properly without them.

Browser Controls

Most web browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings menus. You can usually set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, to reject third-party cookies, or to delete cookies when you close the browser. Because these settings differ by browser and device, check your browser’s “Help,” “Privacy,” or “Settings” section. Blocking or deleting cookies may cause parts of the Site to work differently or not at all.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a legally valid opt-out preference signal. GPC is a setting you can enable in supported browsers or extensions that automatically tells every website you visit that you opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. This is a legal right, not a courtesy: under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.135 and the CCPA Regulations, Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 7025), a business that sells or shares personal information must treat a user-enabled opt-out preference signal such as GPC as a valid request to opt out — applied automatically, for that browser or device, without requiring you to take any further action. The Colorado Privacy Act (Colo. Rev. Stat. § 6-1-1301 et seq.) and the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 42-515 et seq.) likewise require businesses to recognize universal opt-out mechanisms. Consistent with the maximum requirements of these laws, when we detect a valid GPC signal we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser or device and apply it automatically.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Depending on your state, you may have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, including for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise this right through a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism and by enabling GPC as described above. For details on how to submit a request and how we respond, see our Privacy Policy or contact us using the details below.

Analytics and Advertising Opt-Outs

A cookie banner is deployed on the Site. It appears once per browsing session until you make a choice, and it offers two options:

  • Accept — analytics and advertising technologies continue to run.
  • Only necessary — analytics and advertising technologies are switched off. From that point onward the Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Jetpack Stats are blocked from loading on this Site, and we treat your choice as an opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information under California law.

Your choice is stored in your browser for twelve months and applies to that browser and device. You can change it at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. These controls are in addition to the browser and industry opt-out tools described here, and they are separate from the Global Privacy Control signal below, which we honour automatically whether or not you use the banner.

Security

We use reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect information collected through the Site, including encrypting connections in transit using SSL/TLS. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Site and provide information at your own risk to the extent permitted by law.

Retention

How long a cookie or similar technology remains on your device depends on its type. Session cookies are removed when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for the period set by us or the applicable third-party provider — from minutes to months or, in some advertising and analytics cases, up to approximately two years — unless you delete them sooner. You can delete cookies and clear local storage at any time through your browser settings. Information collected through these technologies is retained in line with our Privacy Policy.

Effect of Disabling Cookies

You are free to block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect your experience. Disabling strictly necessary cookies can prevent the Site from working correctly, including secure browsing and form submission. Disabling functional cookies may stop features such as our scheduling embed or on-site chat from working as intended. Disabling analytics or advertising technologies will limit our ability to measure and improve the Site and to gauge advertising performance, but will not prevent you from reading our educational content or contacting us.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly use cookies or similar technologies to collect personal information from children under 13. See our Privacy Policy for more information, including any additional protections for minors under applicable state law.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, our practices, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Cookie Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
